CELEBRITY chef Matt Moran’s latest venture with the Solotel Group — the funky Little Big House — is swinging open its doors in South Brisbane today.

The multimillion-dollar, two-storey eatery and bar takes over the heritage-listed Collins Place on Grey St and will be the third venue for the group in Brisbane, alongside city fine diner Aria Brisbane and casual bar Riverbar & Kitchen.

“We have had some amazingly positive feedback from the locals so far and we can’t wait to open the doors to everyone and show what we’ve all been working so tirelessly on,” said Solotel group marketing director Dan Lacaze.

The property, built in 1889 and previously home to South Bank Police Station and Spaghetti House during Expo 88, retains its iconic facade and features a tropical, relaxed vibe with various indoor and outdoor spaces, pool tables, plus a kiosk serving takeaway breakfasts and coffee.

“It’s a casual, relaxed and energetic venue where you can come and play pool on the pink felt pool table, chill out and drink a beer on the balcony or have a crack at some karaoke downstairs in the free karaoke room,” Mr Lacaze said.

Brisbane modelling agency Vivien’s will launch the venue tonight, hosting its annual extravagant Christmas party with around 250 guests, before it officially opens to the public tomorrow.
